Eric Nelson is an Americans, American choral conductor, clinician and composer. Education Nelson received his training in voice and choral conducting at Houghton College, Westminster Choir College and Indiana University. Career Eric Nelson is director of choral studies at Emory University, where he teaches graduate choral conducting and choral literature. He conducts Emory's 40-voice Concert Choir and its 180-voice University Chorus. In 2004, he was the recipient of a "Crystal Apple" award for excellence in teaching at the university. He is also the artistic director of the Atlanta Master Chorale, a 60-voice adult chamber choir specializing in ''a cappella'' repertoire. Nelson has conducted choirs throughout North America and Europe, including performances in Kraków, Berlin, Leipzig, Prague, Moscow, Washington, D.C., Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Spivey Hall, the Piccolo Spoleto Festival, and at both the Southern and National Conventions of the ACDA. Eric George Nelson is an American diplomat who served as the United States Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2019 to 2022. Education Nelson received his Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Rice University and his Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin - Red McCombs School of Business. Career Nelson began his career in as a Peace Corps volunteer in Liberia, West Africa. In 1990, he began working for the State Department. He has worked in seven United States missions overseas including in the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Consulate General of the United States, Munich and in the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City. Eric Matthew Nelson (born August 13, 1977) is an American historian and Professor of Government at Harvard University. Biography Eric Nelson was born in 1977 and grew up in New York City. According to '' Harvard Magazine'', he went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art every week as a child. Nelson attended Harvard College, where he was inducted to Phi Beta Kappa as a junior and graduated summa cum laude. His thesis, entitled ''The Reluctant Humanist: Thomas Hobbes and the Classical Historians'' won the Hoopes Prize, an award given for exceptional undergraduate theses. While at Harvard, he was a regular columnist for ''The Harvard Crimson'', where he often wrote about the parallels between history and modern day. Fredrik Eric Nelson, Jr. (born December 4, 1960 in Charleston, West Virginia) is an American politician and a former Republican member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, having represented District 35 from January 12, 2013 until December 1, 2020. Nelson served consecutively from January 2011 until January 2013 in the District 30 seat. After his tenure in the West Virginia House of Delegates, he went on to run for District 17 in the West Virginia Senate, which he subsequently won in November 3, 2020 general election.
